Thanks for stopping by! This should give you a little more information about me.
Born in Scotland, and growing up in both Scotland and England I left home in 2004 to head for Maui to do my Discipleship Training School (DTS) with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). Here I was equipped and sent out, particularly to Turkey and Greece for the 2004 Olympic Games.
A year later I returned to Maui to study in the School of Biblical Foundations and Missions (SBFM). At the core of our faith is the Bible, and this school trains students in the Word and how to apply it to their lives. There are introductions to apologetics (a defense of our faith) and worldviews. We learn cross-cultural communication and study teachings from such people as Francis Schaeffer and Richard Foster. Numerous guest speakers, some leaders in their respective fields, present weekly lectures and the whole program is centered on discipleship.
After the lecture phase a group of us headed to south-east Asia to teach and disciple Christians in Thailand, Nepal and India. This was my first introduction to serious teaching and what a location for it! The challenge of different cultures with the burden of communicating God’s truth left a mark on my life and is with me to this day. All over the world people near to hear the good news of God’s truth! I knew that God wanted to use me for this.
I returned to Maui after my outreach, this time as a staff member. I initially worked with the SBFM team becoming later becoming the team leader, and then the Director. In June of 2007 I took on the position of Personnel Director, effectively head of discipleship for the YWAM base in Maui.
2008 saw me take some time out for medical reasons at the beginning of the year before heading back to Maui and out to Asia once more to lead a small team for a month. Found out more about my recent trips and forthcoming plans in the Partners area.
